The fighter is the master of melee combat. The fighter never gains any ability to cast spells, but can use magical items to meet his needs. With the largest total of hit points and the free use of the best armors, fighters are very tough. Fighters gain an additional attack (per turn) with all melee weapons, and wield two one handed weapons simultaneously.

Note that the additional attack that Fighters recieve when using a melee weapon "stacks" with any and all such effects.
